Day 01 : Relax on Arrival at Negombo Beach Hotel

Located 35km north of Colombo and 6km from the island's main international airport, Negombo is famous for its gorgeous sandy beach and the old fishing industry .Being the fishing town , Negombo is popular as a paradise of fresh see food. Day 02 : Benthota Beach /Kosgoda Turtle hatcheries/ Maadu River Boat Safari/Best Season August to April

Benthota is yet another celebrated beach of Sri Lanka, Benthota beach with the river, logon, palm groves and resort complex is one of the most-visited tourist destinations in the island. Lush greenery of the landscape around is really breathtaking.

Kosgoda beach is one of popular tourist destination in Southwest where can visit lots of Turtles. At night marine turtles come ashore, dig a hole and lay their eggs, covering them up before heading back to see. To avoid predatory acts, several private turtle hatcheries have been set up along the coast. Visitors can see huge tanks filled with new born turtle hatchlings. After being fed, the baby turtles are taken to the sea and released when they are 2-4 days old, usually during the safer hours of darkness. Although October to April is the main laying season, some eggs can be found at Kosgoda throughout the year.

Day 03: Hikkaduwa Beach / Unawatuna Beach / Discover the Dutch Fort/Best Season August to April

Hikkaduwa is a small coastal town in the south situated 99Kms south of Colombo. Well-known for its beach, coral gardens and night life, Hikkaduwa is one of most popular tourist destinations in Sri Lanka. The coral sanctuary replete with colorful fish is quite fascinating and you can explore these fantasies in a glass-bottomed boat. This is also a better place for sunbathing,snorkelling, boar-surfing and many other pastimes.

Unawatuna Beach is lovely and picturesque, semi-circular stretch of golden sands boarder with coconut palm trees located 4km's southward around the coast of Galle where is paradise for all who desire to listen to the silence of the sea and dive deep into the blue waters of the ocean. There is a reef protecting the beach, which makes it perfectly safe for bathing and this beach is voted as one of the "top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world" by the Discovery Channel and Mark Ellingham, the founder of 'Rough Guides'.

Dutch Fort at Galle, close to the island's southernmost point, 173km from Colombo, has the distinction of being the best-preserved sea fort in South Asia. A living heritage site, this 90 hectare (222 acre) attraction is a superb blend of architecture, with fortifications that resemble those in the coastal areas of Portugal. The fall of Galle to the Dutch in 1640 saw its fortifications consolidated further along the lines of the fortified cities of Europe. The Dutch and the English colonial styles are evident in the deep verandahs of houses supported by timber or masonry pillars.

Day 04: Blow Hole(Hummana) /Weligama and Tangalle Bay/Observe Stilt fishing/Best Season August to April

The Hummanya is also known as “blow hole” in the region of Sri Lanka and it is considered as the second largest in the league of blow holes, but Sri Lanka’s One & Only. In essence it means a distance where the sound of “hoo” can easily be listened or heard by a person. It is a well known attraction for the travelers and tourists visiting the area and is well known for its uniqueness and excitement aspect. It is located in the deeper southern region of the country and it certainly has its charming aspect that thrills many and attracts people from all across Sri Lanka.

From Tangalle Bay to Weligama is a beautiful coastline with rugged rocks, sandy beaches and coconut groves. Rated by Forbes magazine as amongst Asia's Best Beaches. In fact a lovely place where local fishermen have adopted an almost unique way of fishing, located on the sri lanka's picturesque south coast. As you approach Weligama along the coast road east from Galle will encounter Sri Lanka's famous stilt fishermen. Each fisherman has a long pole with a crossbar that is stuck in the seabed close to the shore. The fishermen wade or swim out to these poles at times when the sea and fish are running in the right direction.

Day 05: Leopard Safari at Yala National Park

On the following day we drive to Yala National Park. We advise you to leave early morning, and take your breakfast and lunch with you. Yala is among the oldest and best known of Sri Lanka’s National Parks and covers about 1297 sqkm. It is the largest agglomeration of protected areas in the country. It is possible to take full day jeep safaris under the instructions of well qualified and experienced instructors and drivers. Yala National Park affords the greatest opportunities to sight the Sri Lanka’s broad variety of wildlife: colorful painted stork in troops are seen perched at the shores of lagoon where the crocodiles too have chosen to doze off; lovely fantailed peacocks in their resplendent blues and greens parade about amidst the woods where monkeys hang, leap and chatter; in the bush jungle are the Elephant crossing the tracks and wandering off into the thorny scrub jungle is the star attraction of the park. Leopards can be seen throughout the park and Yala is home to considerable population of elephants. Yala National Park is rich in birdlife and around 130 species have been recorded.

Day 06:Optional Surfing at Arugam Bay/Enjoy the Beach Stay at Pasikudah/Best Season-June to September

Located about 314km from Colombo and it is a wide beach very popular as a surfing destination. In fact due to coral reef it is being home to an abundance of tropical fish affords delightful snorkeling opportunities. Not only Arugam Bay beach, because of surroundings brings about loveliest sceneries that span over mangrove, jungle, lagoon, river, rice fields and dunes. The very first international surfing competition was held by ISA (International Surfing Association) in the summer of 2004 and the surfing season in Arugambay is from beginning of April and ends of October.

Day 07 Enjoy the Beach Stay at Pasikuda Beach/Best Season-June to September

Day 08 : Trincomalee – Nilaveli Beach & Pigeon Island/Snorkelling/Season-June to September

One of the natural deep water harbor in the world located 257km north east from the Colombo. The Bay of Trincomalee's harbor is renowned for its large size and security; unlike every other in the Indian Sea, it is accessible to all types of craft in all weathers. The beaches are used for surfing, scuba diving, fishing and whale watching. The city also has the largest Dutch fort in Sri Lanka. It is home to major Sri Lankan naval bases and a Sri Lankan Air Force base. On the North East Coast of Sri Lanka, Nilaveli is a pristine covered with white sands and gentle waves slip softly to shore and is the ultimate getaway for those who wish for quiet bliss on a tropical heaven, far away from the cares of life. Uppaveli is one of beautiful, sensible and calm beach closer to Trincomalee with plenty of fairly comfortable accommodation options.

Fringed by a coral reef off Nilaveli in Trincomalee is the Pigeon Island, one of the two marine national parks of Sri Lanka, situated 1km off the coast of Nilaveli. The reason that makes Pigeon Island National Park more unique than the rest of the national parks the country has to boast of is that it´s the only national park to harbor a colony of the most beautiful Blue Rock pigeons. The national park also contains some of the best remaining coral reefs of Sri Lanka.

Day 09/10 : Ancient City of Polonnaruwa/Sigiriya Rock Fortress/Elephant Back Ride

Polonnaruwa was established as the capital after Anuradhapura had been invaded in the late 10th century. Under King Parakramabu, who ruled in the late 11th century, Polonnaruwa became a magnificent walled city. He built the vast reservoir, Parakrama Samudra (the Sea of Parakrama) still in use today, and ordered the construction of monasteries, temples, palaces, bathing pools and Buddhist statues, all set in a forested park surrounded by moats.

Built by an obsessed monarch in the 5th century, Sigiriya or Lion Rock is an astonishing feat of engineering and construction. The most striking portion of Sigiriya, a terracotta and grey core of rock set in the cultural heart of Sri Lanka, rises a sheer 200 meters above a forested plain, its flattened summit sloping gently. A series of moats, ramparts and water gardens — remnants of an ancient city — spread out on two sides of the rock, with the remains of a pair of giant stone lion’s paws still guarding the staircase that leads to the summit, once occupied by a royal palace.

Day 11 : Dambulla Cave Temple/Temple of the Tooth Relic Kandy/local cultural show

Dambulla is part of the cultural Triangle. It houses the gigantic Dambulla Cave temple declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Dambulla caves date Dating back to the First Century BC, the Golden Temple of Dambulla has been the centre of pilgrimage for Buddhists and Hindus alike for 22 centuries. It is Sri Lanka's most popular historic site. The Cave monastery, home to Buddhist monks is covered with exquisite 2,000 year-old murals depicting the life and times of the Lord Buddha. The shrines also house a collection of 157 statues of Buddha in various sizes and poses, including a 15 meter long reclining Buddha and vividly coloured frescoes on the walls and ceiling, making this the largest antique painted surface in the world.

The low hills of Matale are ideal for growing spices such as cardamom, pepper, vanilla, cloves and nutmeg. You can have a look around a spice garden and buy some aromatic spices here too!

The sacred Temple of the Tooth in the historic city of Kandy houses one of Buddhism's most sacred relics and draws followers of the Buddhist faith from all over the world. The Royal Complex situated around the Temple of the Tooth and Kandy Lake – comprising of the King's Palace, the Queens Palace, the Audience Hall, the Royal Boathouse and the Royal Summer House, represent the zenith of ancient Sri Lankan architecture.

Day 12: Royal Botanical Gardens of Peredeniya /Nuwara Eliya Tea Plantation & Factory/Ramboda Water Fall

The royal botanic gardens at peradeniya occupies a horse-shoe-shaped peninsula and the scenic splendour of the garden has been raised to greater heights by the longest river of sri lanka , The Mahaweli , which flows through its fringes, The total area is 147 acres (about 60 hectares)containing about 4500 plant species. This contains more than 300 verities of exquisite orchids blooming in profusion.

Sri Lanka's Premier hill resort is unique as it has a characteristically cooler mountain climate when compared to other locations in Sri Lanka. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lanka's tea country, producing some of the world's best tea. The mountain slops and valleys are a carpet of velvety green tea plantations, interspersed with gushing streams and tumbling waterfalls. Red or green roofed plantation bungalows, English country style homes and hotels with lovely flower gardens, a fine 18-hole golf course and a racecourse gives Nuwara Eliya a decidedly British character.

Day 13: Horton Plains Hike/Scenic Nature Train (A/C) Trip from Nanu Oya to Ella/Ella Gap

One of the world best nature reserves and tourism venues was designated a national park in 1988, is covered by montage grassland and cloud forest in the country. This plateau at an altitude of 2,100–2,300 meters (6,900–7,500 ft) is rich in biodiversity and many species found here are endemic to the region. In general the forest are seen on the hilltops or upper slope the grassland in the valleys and lower slopes eventually giving way to wetland habits. The park is home to wide variety of flora and 24 species of mammals. In fact important Bird area with many species not only endemic to Sri Lanka. The sheer precipice of World's End and Baker's Falls are among the tourist attractions of the park.

Day 14: Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage/Colombo City Tour

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants located at Pinnawala village The main attraction is the opportunity to observe the bathing elephants from the broad river bank as the herd interacts socially, bathing and playing. Visitors to the park can view many different aspects of the care and daily routine of the elephants, such as bottle feeding of elephant calves, feeding of all other elephants, and bathing in the Oya River.
